In a poll conducted by Hichers, off-road enthusiasts weighed in on which features make the Land Rover Defender the ultimate off-road beast. With some surprising results, the rugged titan's most loved features were not what many expected.

According to the survey, 19% of participants found off-road tires to be the defining characteristic of the Defender's prowess. High ground clearance followed closely with 18%, emphasizing the importance of navigating rough terrains without a hitch.

All-wheel drive (AWD) secured a respectable 17%, allowing drivers to maintain control in various conditions. The advanced suspension system, with 14%, showcased how comfort doesn’t have to take a backseat on tough trails.

Interestingly, the Terrain Response System and durable construction each grabbed 11% of the vote. Many praised these for enhancing adaptability and longevity. The oft-overlooked wading depth, at 10%, rounded out the list, proving that for some adventurers, water crossings are just another part of the journey.

While some might argue that features like the Terrain Response System should've ranked higher, the poll shows a clear preference for tangible attributes like tires and clearance. Could it be that drivers are just looking for understandable, straightforward performance?
