In an unusual twist this Valentine's Day season, a recent poll asked lovers what unexpected mishaps they hope to avoid. Participants were keen to share their fears, and the results turned out to be surprisingly relatable.
Receiving wilted flowers took the lead, with a staggering 33% of the votes. Clearly, nothing screams "romance fail" quite like a droopy bouquet. One responder humorously quipped, "I'd rather get a cactus!"
Close on its heels, 30% of respondents dreaded getting drunk during a date. "There's nothing charming about slurred serenades," noted one participant, echoing a sentiment shared by many.
Interestingly, 22% of voters feared facing the day completely broke. With grand gestures and pricey dinners in mind, this misfortune is clearly a top concern.
Lastly, the search for romantic accommodations saw a 14% vote for "No vacancy," a problem that could leave couples scrambling.
Of course, human error could explain some over-the-top responses. Maybe folks just didn't expect "Valentine's Day Grinch" to be an option!
