For 19% of respondents, there's a belief in a hidden truth. These individuals feel that some legends might contain kernels of reality—not everything can be dismissed outright, they argue.
Lastly, 14% of people confess they enjoy the thrill of sharing scary stories. There’s something about sending a shiver down a friend's spine that's irresistibly fun.
Interestingly, human error in recalling these tales only adds to their mystique. Details get twisted, stories stretched, making them juicier with each retelling. The more they're shared, the more they evolve, ensuring urban legends remain a staple of our social fabric.
